I am working with Beth at Simply Beautiful Boutique in Frederick, Maryland – I absolutely LOVE the downtown there and I’m really excited to have met Beth and to have the opportunity to display some images in her shop right on Market Street for the First Saturday event they hold each month. I decided that it would be a fun idea to pick some of Beth’s favorite customer and do a few mini sessions with them and then feature those kids in the gallery. Really fun! I met some great Mom’s and got to spend a little time with Beth, her husband Shawn and their sweet little guy!
Here are a few of the images from those sessions – Make sure you put April 3rd on your calendar to get into Frederick to see the gallery and check out the great shopping! There will be some great session specials if you book that day as well, so don’t miss it!

I have such a hard time with the winter…..I just don’t get out an shoot enough. I hate that I don’t make time. In the spring, summer and fall I’m busy, so it’s easier….but when it’s cold and windy, snowy and rainy I just get out very much. And you know the light in the winter, the winter hats and scarfs are so fun, I really should put together a winter shoot before it’s all gone. Like these, I shot these just out in the street where I live in about 10 minutes…are you ready for your winter shoot?

I feel like we haven’t been outside in months! The last several weeks have been just brutally cold – like 12-25 degree’s, needlessly to say – I haven’t been shooting outside much. I got out today with Parker today for a little bit.
We had a great time and finally a little bit of exercise!
Tomorrow it will be RAINING – Yuck. What about next weekend, who knows but I would love to do some boudoir sessions for Valentines day, are you up for it? Call to book your session!

Good Morning Blog Readers! Just a quick post this morning. Parker and I are in Nashville at the Professional Photographers Association (PPA) Expo event Imaging USA! I’m going to drag my camera equipment today and grab some pictures of the event and spend a bit of time at the Canon booth….ut oh.
I avoided it yesterday, but today is a new day…and it’s looking like a day full of new toys would make it a great day!

As promised I have launched the 2010 Model Search, this one is only for those High Schoolers out there that are looking for Rock Star professional images, not boring backdrops. The Parker Wynn Photography Studio uses professional hair and make-up artists, 100% on location shoots and wardrobe consultation. These sessions are fun, exciting and the results are AMAZING! The lucky Models will receive up to 4 complete sessions depending on when they join the program, including your senior portrait session. Images will be used in print and advertising around the city and within your school.
The link to the application and more information is in the menu above, or here’s a link directly to the page!
This program is by application and although I accept applications throughout the year, I will only accept a limited number of students per class and per school – so get your applications in FAST!
Have your friends apply! Know someone at another school, get points for free stuff (if they are selected) by making a recommendation and having them apply!
Questions? Call me, email me or text me and I’ll help you figure it out!

Well, there are a ton of reasons, right? Right. But, I thought that I would post here a few that I think are pretty important. And I decided to post this list because although I have lots of clients that get their portraits done every year, some a couple or even a few times a year, especially when the kids are young. I still feel that many forget, or get too busy, or use their own camera to capture snapshots of their kids. But in looking around my home, the number one thing that makes me feel like I’m home is the art portraits that I have displayed. They are sooo important to me. I recently read a statistic that said that 85% of people surveyed would take family pictures out of their burning home first. I would.
So, take a look at the list I put together and let me know if you think other reasons should be added to the list. One major one I didn’t add, is probably one of the most important. What if we loose someone we love? Do we have the images to remember?
- The years go by faster and faster, before you know it your baby will be a teenager, your teenager will be a young woman/man, before you know it you won’t have the professional art portraits displayed in the stairway that you always thought you would.
- To remember the fun, lighthearted kid in all of us.
- To share with Grandma and Gramps, family and friends.
- To have your little one on your desk at work to remind you why you work so hard.
- To Celebrate reaching another milestone.
- To let your child know how important they are to you, they are treasured.
- To have a great image for Christmas Cards, thank you cards or note cards.
- To pass on through generations, pictures tell a story.
- To have really great images for your personal website, blog or facebook page.
- To remember.

We had a pretty low key Christmas, which to tell you the truth is just up my ally. Although I LOVE the holiday season, I just really like to take things slow and spend time with my little family. Although I did decide on a new tradition that I want to start next year….A lobster Roast on Christmas eve! Doesn’t that sound awesome! I want to have a bunch of friends over for a casual relaxing time, wine, beer, lobster and laughs! Don’t let me forget this before it’s too late to plan! I’m counting on you!
